Broadband Speed Checker

Speed Checker FAQ

What are the requirements to run our Broadband speed checker?

The Speed checker should work in any web browser (IE, Firefox, etc.) that supports Flash of version 8 and javascript.

What does kbps mean?

kbps means kilo bits per second, or 1,000 bits/second. Usually, ISPs offer Internet speed in Mb per second. 1 Mb has 1024 kilo bits.

How does the speed checker work?

Our speed checker downloads a file from the server and measures how long your connection takes to download it. The size of the file will be different according to your line speed.

The speed test is very accurate and we are constantly adding new countries with GeoIP location so users are automatically tested to the nearest server. Currently we have servers in UK, US and Asia.

How long it takes the speed checker to complete?

About 20 seconds.
